Froth on drinks, could it be the water?

Hi,

Bit of a bizzare question, but I think it's a water problem, but what??

About 2 weeks ago we started to get a creamy coloured foam on top of our tea/coffee.

As soon as the boiling water hits whatever's in the cup, a froth rolls up. I've tried putting everything in separately, but it still does it. I think it must be the water, but haven't a clue why. It looks disgusting, and puts me off drinking it.

It can't be the kettle as I've tried using a pan, and it still does it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
Candy.

Try bottled water and see if you get the same froth?

Ah, never thought of doing that. Thanks, I've got some so I'll see.

Water is disgusting out of a tap anyway (rammed full of chemicals) but for it to just happen out of nowhere is rather strange.

What area do you live in? I know East Anglia has pretty awful water.
