Cheap Energy Club - Switch

Comments

  • I've read the above posts with some concern - I started my switch on 30 September and haven't heard from my new supplier yet. This is terrible service from the self-appointed money saving expert.
  • Also how do I contact the CEC? I can't see any methods on my account page.
  • There's an "energyclubhelp" email address at moneysavingexpert.com (sorry for not typing the address explicitly, but doing so to avoid spambots picking up the address).
  • I couldn't find an email address (how ironic, don't badly performing companies use this tactic?) but I did find a contact form to fill in under "FAQ, how to I report an Energy Club Issue"

Honestly, the best thing to do is just switch via a different site. CEC is good for comparisons and for its alert system but it's rare that CEC will offer the most cashback anyway, and the system doesn't let you know what's happening.

I switched to nPower via MoneySuperMarket and got an email from nPower the following day confirming everything.
  • Well I sent them a message both by website form and the email address supplied above and got a reasonably quick reply stating that all was going well with the switch but it may take some extra time due to all the other people switching. Sure enough when I got home I had a paper letter from Npower advising me the switch was going ahead. Unfortunately they reckon it will take between 5 and 6 weeks which makes over 2 months in total - not very impressed with that. At least the ball is still rolling. Lesson learned for next year.
