Yes, lots of drugs come from plants.
What does that have to do with animal testing?
GR, you didn't actually answer the question, why are you happy to give your pets medicines that have been tested on other animals when you are so opposed?0 -
I'm with Person_ One on this. While I oppose testing on animals for beauty products I do think there is a need for animals to be used to test medication.
As for saying I have never used any medicine which was tested on animals, really!Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

Animal trials are a legal requirement, whatever the composition of the drug being tested.0 -
Some info about animal testing:
http://www.understandinganimalresear...s-in-research/
Here are some very interesting points:- The UK consumes over 300 times more fish each year than the total number of all animals used in medical research each year.
- Household cats kill approximately 5 million animals every week – more than the total number of animals used in medical research every year.
- The UK will consume more chickens this year than the total number of all animals used in medical research over the past two centuries in Britain.
- Cosmetic testing is illegal in the UK.
- In 2012, no testing of household products was carried out using animals in the UK.
- Great apes (orang-utans, bonobos, gorillas and chimpanzees) cannot be used for research in the UK

Animal testing for cosmetics - Not necessary, in fact repulsive.
Animal testing on drugs that might one day save my child's life - Yes of course, I have no problem with it.0 -
There are strong arguments for and against animal testing, but if you don't agree with the petition, just don't sign it..! Simples.0
