Changing from BT to Sky

I presently have BT Infinity 1 with fibre optic to the BT junction box app 300 metres away and overhead copper for the remainder. I will be changing to Sky for landline and unlimited non fibre broadband.
1) Will the new sky modem just plug into the existing landline master socket as our pre fibre total broadband modem did using a filter with the dual connection.
2) Will BT have to remove the existing fibre optic equipment in our home ?
Thanks

It will need a replacement master socket front as that's replaced for infinity installs , the BT open reach engineer will do this when they do the fit for sky's broadbandEx forum ambassador

I have a BT Infinity style VDSL faceplate that was fitted by BT when they were sorting out a line problem with my ADSL broadband. They are backwards compatible. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Sky is not part of the BT exchange network. You'll have to have Sky Talk to use their broadband services, and that will mean taking your phone line off the BT exchange (and possibly facing a very long wait and/or costs to get back onto it later if you decide to leave Sky). Consider this very carefully is my advice.
Sky don't play with a straight bat when it comes to marketing and speaking to customers. It took me 6 weeks to get free and get my line back on BT and cost me money. And that was even outside of a contract, just on their 30 days trial. Oh and the service sucked, and they lied on just about everything I asked them before I agreed to try it.0 -
I have recently changed from BT phone and infinity BB to Sky for both. Sky router thing goes into the socket that the openreach box plugged into. It was very easy. I kept my phone number and perhaps I have been lucky but the change has been very straightforward and satisfactory.
I opted for normal unlimited broadband as this was free for a year, the fibre was free for 6 months, and if I am honest can see very little difference. I have just had multiroom installed and even with the extra rental for this (£11 a month) I am saving £15 a month. I used a cashback site to order the Sky services and got another £60+ from that, so a not inconsiderable saving over the course of the year's contract. I also have the wireless router so I can see all the catchup services on my TV rather than the computer. Buffering is not an issue as any programmes I want are fully downloaded before they can be viewed.0 -

Whatever you do, don't go with Sky! They are full of liars offering deals that don't have! And the connection is cr*p!0

If you've got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all :TThat gum you like is coming back in style.0

Just for balance, I recently moved my telephone and broadband from Sky to BT without problems. Only took a couple of weeks and I kept my number.0
