£1.29.9 for petrol at Moat filling station in Dundonald. £1.30.9 at Tesco Knocknagoney yesterday.
For people finding it hard to find the cheapest prices (and everyone really) there's a great (free) social sat-nav app called Waze (www.waze.com) that you can install on iOS or Android. You can update petrol/diesel prices as you pass garages for the benefit of yourself and others, as well as having live traffic data and navigation.0 -
I'd say not - its always about 5 p dearer than every where else around Newcastle - I always fill up in the self service one in Carryduff on my way home from Belfast.
Newcastle/Castlewellan and onwards towards Newry always seems more expensive than other places - probably due to competition - there is no supermarket petrol stations to bring the prices lower.
I hear what you say and that is probably the reason.
It would probably be cheaper south of Newry

Lol - strangely it's not - diesal is a lot cheaper, but petrol prices south of the border usually compare with the prices in the cheaper stations in the North.
I work in Newry and decided its definately not worth my while to go over the border!Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -

There's usually a fee bargains to be had in the Gap of the North.
Don't tell me the bad polismen have finally put Slab and the boys out of business? Of course that's only diesel isn't it?
In all seriousness though my mammy was driving down to Keady or somewhere to get cheaper fuel. I really can't be bothered to do that to save a few pennies. Not unless I was making a day of it or something.
What are the prices like for petrol off the N1? Any bargains to be had? I'm asking because I was thinking of going down to the big smoke for a particular purpose.0 -

I think the last time i was down the applegreen stations of the M1 were about €1.55 for petrol - so over £1.30 stg, but that was a few weeks ago so they amy have dropped.
The exchange rate put a stop to the cheap petrol a few years back.
I think there may be a petrol station in omeath at 1.25 but not sure.Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -

At the end of the day I suppose it's not really worth worrying about. Drive to Dublin and fill up before coming home. It's not going to break me.

all this carp going on at Grangemouth wont help fuel prices

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-24603346The refinery, which has an annual capacity of 10 million tonnes, provides most of the fuel in Scotland, Northern England and Northern Ireland.
The only way is UP if it does not come online again or it closes without a new backer found0 -
if you look at the consumer council price comparison list it shows coleraine and cookstown with cheaper petrol than belfast................. btw is a big mac in derry cheaper than in belfast?Mistral001 wrote: »I believe that the price is affected by the transport costs from the refinery/port. So you tend to get higher prices the further you are away from Belfast.
