widow43 wrote:Hi Andy, Thanks for this tip - one i shall try! But can't seem to change the language to English?????
1. Log onto your French PayPal account
2. Under the MON COMPTE tab, click the sub tab PROFIL
3. When the new page loads, click on CHOIX DE LA LANGUE
4. From the drop down menu, select U.S. ENGLISH
5. Click ENREGISTRER
Presto - everything is displayed in English. The next time you log on, the menus will already be in English, no need to perform the above again.
Hope this helps!

BarginHunter1985 wrote:Hey I need to transfer money to a bank account in Prague, apparently this has to be done by international wire transfer. Can anyone give me advice in doing this
Thanks

Hi Bargainhunter1985. You just go into your bank, tell them you want to do an international wire, have both bank account details with you. I do this every month and it takes about 5 mins. The bank usually has all my details saved so you don't need to tell them again if doing this regularly.
hope this helpsWaddle you do eh?0 -

I have used Xetrade twice for sending cash to Australia and the US, once for £100 and once for £3000. Each time I got an excellent rate which was only 1% below the mid-market rate. (Half way between the buy and sell rate)
They have no minimum transaction charges and I paid no extra charges! To deposit into a non-US/Canada bank account by "wire" costs a nominal fee (about £10 I think), but I sent a bankers draft to Australia for nothing.
You transfer money form your bank account to their (UK) bank account to start the transfer.
The only downside was that it took a week to setup an account due to their stringent checking procedures. I suppose it's the post 9/11 money laundering rules.
They can send money to (nearly) all countries by the way.

Sending money home from abroad - can anyone tell me the cheapest way to do it?if i had known then what i know now0

I have just used https://www.isxfx.com as they were one of the few companies that trade in the Mexican Peso, they also were very good on the conversion rate as their spread is lower than other companies.0

For anyone just using a Nationwide cash card for abroad, I received this e-mail
Dear Member,
Thank you for your enquiry.
I confirm that it is possible to go overdrawn on a Cash Card account.

Has anyone tried instamoney. Apparently they are having a promotion at the moment, which allows me to transfer for free. Sounds to good to be true..........:j BABY A :j0

I have had problems with Nationwide in this regard. They are adamant that they will only issue a cash card for someone who is an account holder, and since my wife lives in China they refuse to convert my flex account into a joint account with her. So the only way I could give her access to the account would be by sending her the one and only cash card, and then I would be unable to use it for funding my own (business) travel. Any suggestions?0

I am surprised that no-one has mentioned Fidelity money funds.
It is designed to be an investment: you put money into it from your bank account, choose what currency you want it to be held in, and receive an interest rate dependent on the currency in question. They will change from one currency to another without any charges, and using the interbank exchange rate. When you want the money, they will pay it by electronic transfer, in a currency of your choosing, into any bank account anywhere in the world that is in the same name as the Fidelity account.
The catch? You need to use joint accounts to ensure that there is a 'path' for the money, and Fidelity want you to maintain a minimum balance of about 2,000 pounds or 5,000 dollars.0
