Quick question, im out of contract with Virgin media next month and im looking to A) save money,
Try somewhere new, i've had issue with VM this year first time in 4 years and my area was over subscribed leading to issues during peak time with the internet.
I received no discount for this.
Now what i've been looking at is moving to Sky Fibre with their 6 months half price deal (saving me a good deal of money a month) as i online game, and then using a Humax Youview recorder for the TV.
The VM retention's lady took great delight in telling me this was not possible as Sky do not allow you to use Humax as it under cuts their TV service...
It sounds like rubbish to keep me, but i thought i would check!
Anyone know any different? we only use freeview channels but we do record and watch things at a later date, so Humax sounded ideal.

You can use any broadband provider you like to deliver the on-demand content to a Humax Youview box.
You will however require an external aerial to receive Freeview, if you don't already have one and are using only VM cable. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Thanks, thought that would be the case.
Do have an aerial, it's neatly tucked and pinned to the wall, never used it! best try it first!0
