Virgin retentions

I'm a bit out of the loop regarding phone deals but I know Ive managed to get great deals from Virgin when Ive rang retentions. Ive just rang them regarding my daughters phone & they only offered whats available on the website. Is this what happens now or did I just get someone who wouldnt budge on price? I really wanted to stick with Virgin as it gives her free Virgin to Virgin calls. Can anyone help?

I've just phoned Virgin, I've been with them 12 months on the starter simo for £10 per month.
I use little texts and calls but always use between 500 and 600 mb data per month so really need a 1GB package.
Best they could offer was the £7 deal but that only has 500mb data.
I was expecting them to offer me a £5 discount as I've read numerous times before. I didn't really want to move as happy with coverage.
My new phone is with Tesco mobile so I may as well move to them. Same £10 per month (30 days) but I get more allowances. Also no hassle of of unlocking and cutting down sim card.
Just a shame ovivo is only 500MB.0 -
My last experience of negotiating with Virgin was 1 or 2 years ago (sorry can't remember exactly). Near the end of my contract they phoned me with an offer plus new phone. I checked out other providers giving better deals, and said I didn't want a different phone and what could they offer me. They then improved on the other provider's deal, which I accepted. Even if you want to stay with them could you quote any better offers with other providers and see if that prompts them to make a better offer? They don't have to know at that point that you really want to stay with Virgin :cool2:Surfing_spaniel wrote: »I'm a bit out of the loop regarding phone deals but I know Ive managed to get great deals from Virgin when Ive rang retentions. I am still with them (having since decided on a newer phone) tho hunting round for what else is on offer as my current contract ends early Feb 2014.0 -
Virgin are currently doing Unl Calls/Txts/Data (3.5GB) for £10pm on a 30 day contract for existing customers who have been with Virgin Mobile for more than 3 months.0

Interested in peoples responses to this as I currently have 4 mobiles with virgin.
one is out of contract and the other 3 are up for renewal in Feb, they are pestering me to renew my contracts now, they offered me a "special rate" which is exactly the same as anyone else on virgin already.
Given the fact I have 4 contracts to renew, what are my odds do you think on negotiating a better price?
Daughter wants the Nokia Lumia 520
me and hubby will probably go samsung, poss s3 mini
other daughter hasn't decided.
they are offering me £13 on the nokia, 200m 500mb data, unlimited texts, unlimited calls and texts to virgin mobile.
same plan for the samsung s3 mini, but £16 a month.
Am I likely to get a deal?0
