  • Morning all
    Welcome Topher.
No work for me today but full time next week, not sure how that will go, I went out to a pamper evening last night in aid of the DGC's school, but only stayed an hour as I got the shakes, so came home & went to bed.
Damp and chilly here, I shall hang some washing out but I don't think it will dry.
Hubby has been dropped at work, he's working tomorrow and Sunday and then all next week, so we will both be worn out by next Friday.
I have steak and kidney bubbling away in the slow cooker so that will be nice later.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

tru - Did DH realise the irony of the scented candles?
    No :rotfl:

I was struggling to keep a straight face :D Especially as he made the effort to do a smell test and buy ones I'd really like - they are Yankee candles, five mini ones in Christmas flavours and a large Paradise Spice.
    Bulletproof
  • Lovely here today, so washing is on the line and another lot of bedding is in the machine.
I need to get some yeast today, I went to make some bread last night and I have run out  that has never happened before, but I am making bread daily now instead of buying the pap that masquerades as bread in the shops these days.
So I will buy six boxes to keep in stock, I really must do a comprehensive sort out of my cupboards :o.

:hello:Welcome Topher great bunch on here you will soon feel at home x

nmlc How scary, we have been burgled twice and it really does put you on edge.
DH has planted a firethorn on either side of the gate firethorns have nasty 2 to 3 inch spikes, natures barbed wire so to speak.

Right must get on BFN x

tru - My DH has just suggested that perhaps your DH subconsciously thought that if the candles were scented ones you'd notice the smell and be less likely to put anything on top of them!

Hester - Good luck going back full time, I hope you'll be ok. I know you won't take any carp from anyone re workload!

TTFTM - So pleased you have a second interview, good luck! Your Oriental rice salad sounds lovely, though you may well be right about a buffet not doing much to cheer everyone up :(

Topher - Hello! I think I actually remember you from the daily thread from aaaages ago? I think you're another person with ME? So sorry to hear it looks as if you'll have to give up your job ((HUGS))

It's really nice to see names on here that I remember from quite a while ago :) (Hello Csarina! And I even saw a post from moggins recently).

Hello to everyone who's never heard of me - I will make an effort to post more often :o. I had a very bad bout of ME but am better atm - long may it last!

((((HUGS)))) to everyone who needs some.

    Good morning,
    Welcome Topher,
tru-laughing at the candles, but at least he was thinking of you.
nmlc sorry to hear about your intruders.
DH had to be up & out early today so I was up earlier than normal but used the time profitably by sorting out my 2 big pan drawers :D I really need to sort out accumulated paperwork next, hate that job.

I think it will be meatballs for tea,but I also got a reduced chicken yesterday so that needs cooking too.I got an unexpected trip to Asd a yesterday as DS was going to the retail park and I tagged along to get a few bits so I can avoid my usual Mr S trip today.

We had DGD to ourselves for tea as DS & DiL2b were going to their first ante-natal class :).She ate all her mince and chips up,then pinched some of Grandpas too. She's here again tonight for her overnight stay as her Mum is going away for the weekend.

Hope everyone is doing ok,& have a good weekend x

I forgot to say, I found a baby bird on my way to work, who was a little dazed and confused, I picked him up and he gripped my finger with his legs so they weren't broken, I've left him hidden in some under growth, and if he's still there on my way home I'll take him with me and take him to the vets, see if we can help him. He was very very. cute.
