  • I dont know how they got the figures,
with your ESA conts, Pension and CA, I think this should wipe ESA IB out.
so therefore you should remain getting, your ESA conts. pension and CA.
I would be interested to see how £63 is reached please post when you get the breakdown.

missed a bit... ESA IR would be

    112.55 PA
    34.80 SGC
    21.75 DP
    33.30 CP
    Sub Total 202.40
    -59.75
    -85.61
    Total = £57.04 per week

But ESA C would remain payable at the higer rate of £106 per week
  • EDP couple as the OP has high DLA care
    but the pension
    371 x 12 = 4452 divided by 52 = 85.61 a week for benefit purposes.
be interesting to see how they get £63

Corrected that now to 57.04 which is what I had said before... I thought I had missed something but I hadn't.
  • An update: I rang to check the progress of my claim yesterday, as I still haven't heard anything and am continuing to receive ESA at the original single claim rate.

The man said that, as the dual claim would work out at considerably less, I was to remain on the contribution based single claim indefinitely. I was so relieved! Can it be that the DWP have started to apply common sense to their application process?

Of course, I still don't have confirmation in writing, but I feel much more optimistic now. Thanks to all who offered advice. :)

Yeah, they should leave you at whatever would be to your advantage, so query it if the don't.

You had incredibly bad luck in getting 2 advisors in a row to begin with who made the same mistake on the 17/10/2013 You should phone and complain against those 2 so they are educated to learn how this area of ESA works.

The recent ESA person you spoke to just knew what he was talking about.
  • Hi could you tell me if this was reverted back for you to a single claim, contribution based and still in the support group please.
Exactly and I mean exactly the same thing has just happened to me.
  • Do not ever fill in a JSA3 form if you are in the support group on Esa (c) as a single claiment it will cause massive problems.
