    Throw the book at them. Charged for various traffic offences then forced to pay for any damage to the vehicles.
    Looks like the police have certain reservations about their road sense.

    Police appeared to be exceeding the speed limit and passed on the left at an unsafe speed. The cyclist said he was turning right and i'm a bit skeptical of that (i know some cyclists turn into trolls with the camera on) but it doesn't excuse the officers behavoir. Next time the police are cycling on a right hand side lane, drop a gear and floor it by them on the inside and see how they react when you tell them it's their fault.

    I've been cycling on roads for approx 19 years and driving for around 7

    And cyclists (of which I'm also one) should learn how to ride properly on roads. Not like the guy I saw yesterday morning at 6.-5am riding down an unlit road with no rear light, only a reflector. To be fair, once I'd overtaken him, I could see his front light. In the pouring rain, that was a potential accident waiting to happen...
