Cameron ! motorists must learn how to deal with cyclists.

Speaking during a question and answer session on BBC Radio Sussex, the Prime Minister said:
“I’m a big fan of this cycling revolution taking place in Britain. In my constituency in Oxfordshire at the weekend you just see swarms of people in lycra on their bikes. We need to be a fitter, healthier country.”
However, he admitted that motorists face difficulties because of the hordes of cyclists taking to the streets.
The Prime Minister added: “Now look, it can be challenging for drivers when you have these pelotons weaving through the roads of Sussex and Surrey but I think we should be encouraging cycling and motorists have to think carefully about how to deal with a peloton.”

Wonder what precisely he had in mind ! Perhaps put in a temporary diversion to the Thames ?

As long as the cyclists are following the rules of the roads, there shouldn't be too much of a problem for motorists i'd have thought

I'm a cyclist and a motorist. The only cyclists that ever cause me grief when driving are the ones that don't follow the rules / laws. I'm sure we all know them.

Strange as it is, when i cycle i'm often faced with the drivers that overtake too close, or overtake you so they force you to brake heavy when they turn left into a street or to park.

Keeps doing that and they'll deal with themselves soon enough.

Councils that design roads to put vehicles and cycles into obvious conflict are my major bug bear.

They worry about "street furniture" yet will design cycle lanes that will run a cyclist under a vehicle all the time.

    As an aside.

I genuinely have no sympathy for cyclists who ride like the one in the video.

If you are part of traffic behave as such and you'll be respected as such.

Looks like the police have certain reservations about their road sense.
