removing blueyonder cable/box

Options
Hi guys

just moved into a new apartment and its got an old telewest/blueyonder cable line and box thing on the skirting board, now the wire is just kind of hanging (come loose from the skirting board) but its fixed into this box thing which has no screws to get into just a plastic cover, I can probably live with the box but the wire has to come out as it looks stupid and also runs through the hall.

can I just rip it out of the box or cut through it or is there some way to to remove the box, probably a stupid question but don't want to get electrocuted etc, I might even have virgin media but that wires still got to go as its a mess and I want to decorate.

cheers
