I got disillusioned with dating sites so put myself on Ebay.
But i never had any bids there either, not even 99p.

    Bad buyer/seller feedback?

You were late cancelling. End of story.

    They did absolutely nothing wrong.

How does the fact that you cancelled your subscription late, and the company asked for payments owed to be paid, make them thugs or one to be avoided? Do you deflect all your failings onto others and name and shame them like this?
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Because even though you can pay monthly, if you were previously on a 6 months payment, they automatically charge you for 6 months, even though you could have gone down to 1 month membership at the end if you wished. At the time I got caught (not sure if it is still the same), if you paid for a 1 month or 3 months membership, it just ended when it ran out, but on a 6 months basis, it renewed automatically. So if it is the first time you are on a 6 months membership basis after years of paying every 3 months, you might have no clue. Of course it is in the T&C somewhere in the tiny writing somewhere on the site (or was at the time).
