Seventh Anniversary Combo Breaker First Post
Hi everyone I am new here. This is my first post.
In started comping a few months ago after a colleague won a few small competitions which inspired me to give it a go. I hve on a few small prizes, a Fosters glass, a Wychood t-shirt, a kitkat, a record label goody bag and a cuddly koala. I have been chuffed to bits with all of these.
Most of the time, I don't even bother with the big comps - I am happy with small prizes. This is a nice hobby for my while I am watching TV mostly of an evening.

What concerns me about the OP isn't that you haven't won yet, but that you seem really depressed. You will win eventually, big or small, but I worry that you are pinning your hopes on this to lift your mood. It sounds like you have a lovely supportive family, and that is great. Perhaps you need to have a chat with them about how low you feel, and also talk to your Doctor? Sorry if that is inappropriate, but I have suffered with depression myself and I know how pervasive it can be. Look after yourself, and I hope you feel better (and your luck turns) soon.

do not be encouraged or put off with comps here years ago when I joined used to win a lot now peeps are hoping to win straight away it wont happen just be patiect big wins are few and far between do not keep checking your e/mail every five minutes wins are brilliant but not that often it is luck
  • I started comping after I admitted my gambling problem....(a whopper!) However, this has taken my time now...I love it....costs me nothing...and I have had some great wins....for me and my family...the wins will come....just be patient.....the knock on the door from the postie still makes me skip.....especially when you haven't had an email of a win. Keep it as a hobby, hopefully you'll find work again....keep this as a hobby....as a job...id be hungry now and have not been able to pay bills. Enjoy the buzz....I'd love to see your face on the first mystery win!!!

Good for you, goaler, and good luck with the job and the comps!
  • Don't worry, A win comes when it's least expected, and when its not wanted.

Ive won holidays and outings, Hundreds of pounds worth of clothes/makeup childrens toys ( Keeps my little ones happy) and electricals...

However for two months I haven't had anything. I think it's because i don't comp much anymore as we are so busy with our business.

I always read the IWIWIW thread to keep me motivated, and it helps when friends win too!

Keep at it, sometimes you get a really good week with loads of wins!
Started Comping again 26th November! Bring on the fun! :)

  • Hi

I started April 2012 and had a really good start, the wins dried up a bit in 2013 (although I have won a few things this year, just not as many wins) and I felt like I just couldnt be bothered so have taken a break only doing the Times comps that I want to win (not the football ticket ones really). I also got a job in August so have been busy with that.

I am now thinking of spending an hour most nights doing the mag dailies and using some more free time over the weekend to do some other comps too.

Good luck, hope you win something soon.
Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday
Best Wins: Ipad, Nintendo 3DS, £400 Shopping Spree at LK Bennett, £100 Boots vouchers
Total Wins (Since April 2012) £3442.56
Big thanks to all who post comps :T:beer:
  • Same here.

I've spent 4-6 hours a day entering competitions (100-200 a day) for the last 6 months and haven't won a single thing... :(

If you have enough time I would recommend entering some of the harder effort comps like wrtiting stories, pictures or making videos, as these often have much lower entry amounts and therefore more chance of winning
