Proof of check in?

We are thinking of making a claim for two delayed flights back in May and June of 2010. One was outbound to Mexico and the other was inbound to Gatwick. Six and four hours respectively. We do not have boarding passes , how do we get proof of check in?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
