If you don't mind a lot of waiting around (and the risk of wicked fees), you could try Sothebys and ask about both vehicles and film memorabilia, as visually it should be stunning in the catalogue & worth a bit to the auction house for publicity. Negotiate the details carefully...!

Yeah the competition only closed the day before the original post. So they decided on a winner and contacted the OP within a couple of hours?

Thats why i wondered was it a genuine win or some spam/scam?

No mention of where the competition winner lives. Although thats easy enough to find out.

I used to work for a large games website/magazine which regularly ran comps and it was best to contact winners immediately after the competition closed. Reason why was we gave them a time limit to respond and if they didn't respond you had to choose another and so on. All this with the prize providing company on your back for the address to send the prize to.

Sometimes it could go on for weeks, the prizes were good too, games consoles, PCs, games and once a jet ski, all free entry too. Sometimes they'd want photos of the winners with their prizes which complicated it even more.

The standard car probably discounts to a little over twenty grand so if the dealer offers anything over fifteen I'd grab it - its not worth getting an auction house involved as the basic car just isn't special enough and after their commission you'd probably end up with less or a no-sale

I would have to say i doubt a special edition of six cars with signed dashboards and numbered plaques would need to be discounted.

Bonhams Auctioneers do regular car sales including collectables as well asd the classics and vintage/veteran cars. They would certainly be able to give you an idea of your car's value and likely saleability.

Link below gives some idea of the kind of cars that feature in a ciollectables auction

Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!
