Can i make a ppi claim?

Hi all im new to all this and hope ive posted in the right place!
Basically ill try to keep it short but it is long winded. In 1998/9 i took out a loan for £7000 with Lloyds bank and was told i had to have ppi or i wouldnt be able to make payements if i was off work and this would mean that my application would also be more succesful. I was young and needed the money so i signed!
Since then myself and others got sacked from my place of work at that time, as to help with finding another job my then employer accepted my resignation instead of sacking me. Lloyds wouldnt let me claim because i resigned and was not sacked. I found it hard in finding a job so never made the repayments, instead the charges kept going up! when my situation improved i paid all the charges and got up to date, that was until my circumstances changed and i was off work for 2 years due to an injury which again they wouldnt let me claim. (i have no idea why?) so my payements stopped and yet again the charges piled up. My account was then sold to Arrow Global. I made a repayement offer that they declined and they took me to court i ended up with a CCJ and i had to repay at the amount i originally offered them.
Im still paying this debt now 16 years on from the date i took it out. And still owe £3000 .does anyone know if i have a chance of getting any money back from lloyds? I have the original account number and thats abouts it?
Sorry its so long but thats the facts...

you can complain yes, but any redress can first go agaisnt any outstanding debt....no point in not complaining is there?
If you had read the T&Cs, you'd have seen you were covered for redundancy not resignation.....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Hi thanks for the response, it was the sack i was facing though not redundancy. would'nt i of had to prove that?0 -
if you had been sacked through your own fault it wouldnt have paid out then either.
make the complaint. If they do uphold and keep the redress, you still have a lower debt.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

you don't need to ask for the T&Cs because you know what the account number is [hopefully]
You can definitely use single premium as a complaint reason....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Taff is right about this. It is standard amongst PPI (indeed any unemployment cover) that it will only cover involuntary unemployment which is not the fault of the claimant. Basically redundancy. Resignation isn't covered as it is not involuntary and nor is dismissal (as, rightly or wrongly, it is deemed to be your fault).0

Hi yes i understand that, thats not my dispute i asked for them to accept my resignation so that it made it easier to get another job, it wont look good if i tell a new employer that i got sacked.
I need to know if ive got a chance of getting some money back on the ppi that i was told i needed to have to get the loan. i thing im going to give it a go as Taff says 'youve got nothing to loose'0 -

I thought there was timescales involved in PPI claims and that PPI at the date show by the OP was outside of those timescales.
I only mention that because I posted on here about a store card taken out in about 2001 and paid off in full in 2011 and was told ''don't bother as its outside the time scales''0 -

Im not making this claim because of my not being allowed to claim, i realise that i was not in a position as having giving my resignation, that was just me telling the whole story
The reason is about the fact that was told i would have to have ppi or i wouldnt be able to make payements if i was off work and this would mean that my application would probably not be accepted, and i would have a greater chance of it being accepted if i were to take the insurance out. I was young and needed the money so i signed......0
