That's a question! Just because you didn't put a question mark at the end doesn't make it less so

Morning everyone. Hope we don't have another repeat of the last few days because this is all getting a bit....

I asked a question about spending some money off vouchers yesterday ChrisE, nobody answered yet I'd probably be classed as being in the 'clique' people keep carping on about. This thread is a wonderful place full of amazing people and in my mind isn't in the least bit comparable to the likes of HUKD or 10 ways.
For one thing I (normally) feel safe to discuss bargains and glitches without being shot down or insulted. You don't need to explain things as much on here because most people know the shorthand and get what you're on about. We know things about each other's lives.....know when people are missing or unwell or in need of extra support. If you think 10 ways and HUKD are the same then I'm sorry but we must be on different threads. If we wanted a list of current glitches and a load of !!!!!y comments, wouldn't we just all be over there instead of here?

Morning all
I don’t post that much but read the thread with wry amusement, always hit thanks when the post has helped, answered my question or just made me laugh. If I think I have something useful for the team then I will share it. Also i have always had any questions I have asked answered (thanks). Some might label me a “lurker” a title I’m not overly keen on as I am always logged in and visible on site and the main reason I keep posts to a minimum is that I have chronic rheumatoid arthritis and my hands can be very painful.
After the discussions of the last few nights I would just like to say that in my opinion all these supermarkets have a duty to themselves, if they do not wish to spend their profits on training, improved IT etc to help themselves, I for one do not intend to give them any grace when they do not “get their act together”.
I certainly am not worried (as some suggested we should be) about having my car reg picked up in the car park, my face on CCTV and using my credit card and I definitely do not intend to walk to the supermarket, always pay cash and wear a Berka to avoid it!
I recall from some basic law course, back in the day when the star shone over Bethlehem, that Sale of Goods/Contract law is kind of two parts, an item on a shelf displaying a price is “an invitation to treat” the shopper then takes this item to purchase it (till/checkout) and offers to buy it at said price the seller then agrees or declines the offer, which is the point the contract is made, by the sellers acceptance.
Now to real reason for my post
I’ve just read on grabbit that there is a double up on cc vouchers for finest wines......anyone have any idea if I used this on a few meal deal if it would recognise the pre meal deal price of the wine?
So if I bought 2 meal deals wine @ 7.99 ea and used a £5 voucher boosted to £10? If so looks like I’m shopping again this afternoon! :rotfl:
TIA
Ah but those SS tills could be an "offer" which you accept!:D There's a piece of case law which supports this (can't for the life of me remember the name of the case now). Amid the confusion/spanner in the works that I've now created, those price labels could simultaneously be invitations to treat (which everyone says they are) and offers (which only my deviousness, in respect of SS, adds) all at the same time! So they are an invitation to treat, then you change your mind about going to the SA'd checkouts and go to the SS machines making the shelf prices an offer!:rotfl::rotfl: How can the same pricing displayed be both an invitation to treat and an offer at the same time? Conflicting(?) bits of the law?
'A machine cannot refuse'... it is an offer. Was it Shoe Lane Parking???0
