ChrisEvanson wrote: »I agree in some cases this is so. And in many cases it is people who don't often post. But is this thread only for a cliquey group or is it indeed open and welcome to all? I wish I had taken notes in the past but some of the queries have been clarification of which specific one to get or re a trigger, which hasn't been mentioned. I've no idea how you easily look for such info if you don't know what you are looking for? It's interesting you want to refer to the most obvious info requested and reply ignored, but I'm not referring to the obvious 'read back two pages'.
Perhaps I should just keep quiet. I just saw it being discussed and felt I agreed with some of the comment.:p I'm Deffo not in the cliquey group this is a open forum so anyone is welcome.. 2bh personally I haven't time and cant be bothered to read every post I skim read read back and find what I want.. Some people seem to not want to look or wait for a list makes harder work when you've got to read 100 pages of the same question when you are looking for some thing.
Ignore reality. There's nothing you can do about it.
I have done reading too!

i would never pay that kind of price as they dont hold that degree of value for me.
plus i have so much stuff from previous glitches to get through yet so can afford to be choosy0 -
ChrisEvanson wrote: »No, you're missing what I am saying. I've several times read back and spent a good hour or more doing so. I've seen back in the posts polite requests for clarification followed by replies from those whose earlier posts clearly showed they knew the answer but expected that person to spend hours reading back. I appreciate if it is in the last page or two but often that isn't so. I've seen people say about marathons and suggesting these people are trying to jump in and win it at the end. For a friendly thread that isn't very friendly IMHO. Don't want to have a big argument about it. Just passing comment about the few. I have had help here and it is much appreciated.
I really don't believe anyone expects people to start hunting through hundreds of pages or going back to previous threads. That would not be reasonable given that the thread is sooo fast moving and search function is not particularly good at times. (Note to mobile users using the search function when out shopping. Use 'Advanced search' rather than 'search'. I find it much better though takes a little longer)
It's a balance, the thread is fast moving because of [STRIKE]chat[/STRIKE] bilge/ glitches / hugs / RL and people repeatedly asking the same questions/answers. In many cases that same question and answer is on the very same page. To me, that's sheer laziness and smacks of the user not being bothered to at least attempt to find for themselves and that's what quite rightly annoys some people here. I personally notice the same names cropping up who do this, but in their defence I would say they're not the ones who seem to spend as much time here as others, but sometimes you have to help yourself, even if it's just a little.
As for boundaries, each to their own. I think here they're quite restrained compared to elsewhere0 -
