I pay direct debit for mine and EON put think it was £45 back in my bank in May because I was in credit and I was  at them. Rang them and guy said 'this is what they do' I told him 'was there no way he could stop this happening again so I would have a credit on my account for Winter bill'. Answer 'no they only do it once a year when they assess billing' They also wanted to down my DD I told them 'to leave it at what I was paying' So annoying when I am trying to budget. Rant over
I wont change because I have it in my head they all they same in the long run and will still be paying same.
i joined up with martins energy comparison. it reckons i can save 7 pound a month with utilia.
i tried to pay in advance by direct debit but when they did the credit check i failed:( My answer to them was ok, then i won't spend anything.
only have double glazing and a newish boiler as they came with the flat, otherwise wouldnt be able to have them either.
any ideas on reducing spending gratetfully received:)grocery challenge 9.86/600 -

Looks like a weekend of glitchiness ahead  Happy shopping all :j
For any not wanting, able or needing to shop, pull up a chair, link a choon or two, post a pic (yes please naebirrac, lawrie, westie et al) and reach out and give a huge hug to the person next to you. :A
I need to get out and gather in the last of the blackberries - bumper crop this year with pretty much every hedgerow brimming. Freezer well stocked :j
But also need to hit those glitches - have a fantastic "barter" system here, loads of folk help me out daily with lifts, looking out for the kids, diy, etc and they do it willingly knowing I can't pay, but it is a delight to be able to gift in return, especially if that bottle of wine or box of chocs is unexpected. Get those glitches and share the joy
Have a lovely Saturday all
Good morning everyone - just re quoting RN's lovely post as its so beautifully put :T:T:T:T:T

Morning everyone
Did everyone get the mailing from Ts for the bonus Christmas voucher? I have to spend £90 per week :rotfl: with a voucher for£45 off a £90 spend at the end. There's not much in the way of terms and conditions - all it says is you have to "spend" £90 in total each week .... not that you must keep everything you have boughtalso it doesn't say, that I can see, that the purchase of gift cards is excluded
;);)
What is everyone's thinking on this?? I could never normally spend £90 per week there, but would happily do a bit of shuffling with gift cards or clothing returns to get the voucher at the end
I was thinking, maybe
Week 1 - Buy one £100 Tes gift card - spend met
Week 2 - Use the gift card to buy £90+ clothes - spend met
Week 3 - Return ill-fittingclothes and refund goes back on giftcard - spend another £90+ on clothes and pay with giftcard - spend met
Week 4 - same as week 3, then later return clothes - spend met and still left with £100 on Tes giftcard at the end to use when the voucher comes through.
Obviously sounds too good to be true but could possibly work based on the vague Ts&Cs:rotfl: also if it doesn't work and the voucher doesn't get produced, I haven't lost anything as I still have the giftcard at the end - of course you could always just use cash right from the start and not faff with the giftcard. I only used that example as it covered the week one spend threshold

izzeyb - how do the curry things at T work? Do you have to buy a certain amount? Is there a trigger that I can't see that I need to add? Are they in the freezer or fridge?
Sorry for all the questions - don't normally go to T as we don't have one so don't pay too much attention to any deals.
I know about the beans though! Hope I find some of those! :-)
They are fresh - often found next to Finest meal deals.
Best comparison is against Asda.
ONLY Korma & Jalfrezi work £3T vs £1.50 Asda
Also the Veg spring rolls work £1.50 T vs ££1.00 Asda
You buy 2 sides + 2 mains for reduced price of £6 BUT meal deal isn't taken into account on PP.
If you buy 6 mains (Korma & Jalfrezi) + 6 sides (making just 2 of them Veg spring rolls) you get a PP of £10 - which is the max.
Don't forget fillers - at LEAST 10 diff items preferably 11 or 12 just in case! HTH0 -

QUOTE=Saversue;6g484359]Shingles is Not Contagious, you can only get it from Chickenpox Virus which remains dormant in your body and surfaces if run down, resistance is low, etc.
You can catch Chicken Pox, but not Shingles.
I agree that shingles itself is not contagious, but if you have never had chickenpox you can catch it from someone who has shingles. The fluid in the shingles blisters contain the chickenpox virus.

Good morning all.
Got 30 + pages to catch up:eek:
For those who like making sloe gin or plum brandy:D, or even blackberry vodka mmmmmm:D
Sains have the kits, complete with a 2 litre kilner jar, 4 kilner gin bottles, muslin and a funnel on a half price offer, was £20 now £10. Would make a great prezzie, and much cheaper than buying the items individually, as the gin bottles alone are £2.95 each on Amazon
Gin comparison on msm shows 1 litre of Gordons as S £20 T £16, so a nice £4 bm:D
Brandy comparison Three Barrels 700ml S £17 A £11, so a £6 bm.
I'll be getting all 3 later, and when DH goes off on his photography jaunt he'll be picking sloes ( he doesn't know it yet though;))
Have a lovely day, see you later.

I love sloe gin, I keep bottles during the year and stuff them with cracked sloes and the fill with gin.... leave as long as possible or as long as your will power will allow. I just pour straight from the bottle. It tastes better when it has been brewing for a few years, it makes a thick syrup..... yumyum :T:T:T:T100 -
