SCS delivered and fitted the carpet. We paid for the carpet by card but paid cash to the SCS fitter.
What sort of card was it? (Credit or debit) as this could make a big difference to how you proceed, and what was the cost of the carpet excluding fitting?

Just an update. It has now been almost 12 weeks and the line/crease/pole mark is still there. It has shown very minor signs of improvement but is still unsightly.

Today we had a second "inspection" of the carpet as arranged by SCS when I went into store to complain. The "inspection" consisted of a few photos being taken on an old blackberry mobile phone, which would then be shown to the manufacturers. Needless to say, we're not very hopeful that this will lead anywhere.

Thank you for your replies and I shall post again when I hear back from the manufacturer.

If they've put that in writing, I'd be asking them for their definition of the word "temporary". And at which point does temporary become unreasonable?

For example, if its there for a year, that's temporary....but its not reasonable (imo).

I especially liked this advice and used it when I went into store to complain. I never actually got an answer...

Debit card. Excluding fitting, the carpet cost £200.

EDIT - apologies! We actually paid for it by credit card. It has been so long that I had forgotten!

    Good Afternoon,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you have had with your carpet.

If you can send me your account number or delivery postcode I can look into this for you?

    Many Thanks

    Carpet complain Colchester store
Carpet failed to be fitted when agreed leaving 72yr old disabled woman in a house with no carpets
Apparently store did not check carpet had actually arrived then failed to secure fitter for when carpet was delivered 4 days later. Result they have left a 72 yr old severely disabled and housebound woman with concrete floors and no carpets. Store manager was abrupt and rude saying it wasn't their fault the contract (which you don't actually receive until you have paid) says they can't be held responsible. I am adding my complaint to the Website which has been started by angry customers who have all suffered the poor customer service from SCS

Exactly what do their terms state?

Most liability limitation/exclusion clauses in consumer contracts are unfair/invalid.
