I would buy one of those really fat bumper Christmas colouring books and a box of coloured pencils from Poundland. £2 per child and if you wanted to push the boat out a bottle of Matey bubble bath under £2 in savers. So that would be approx. £4 per child.
At the moment The Works are doing 4 xmas annuals for £10 which works out £2.50 per child, plus a bag of sweets from poundland , that would work out at £3 per child.0 -

For kids I'd go with identical tins of chocolates. £4 each for that.
I remember years ago I used to get a small (half) sized tin of QStreet at a staff kids' party - LOVED getting that. Still remember the buzz of receiving it and the anticipation the following years!
It's the thought that counts.0 -
ebay, charity shops, and also try popping a post on your local freecycle. It's at this time of year that people tend to throw their children's toys they have outgrown to make way for the new. x0

the book people is fantastic and does sets of books for kids for around £5.00 for 3. you could split these up add a selction box and a new hat/ scarf/gloves from primark or some kids bubbles baths ? I always try and spend around £10 on friends children and always use the book people to start with ! Craft kits in wilkinsons are around £2 £3 mark or a fancy mug and hot chocolates for the older kids with a new book to get cosy with ? xx:j First prizes back into comping after a break - romantic break to 2 to Venice/ Paris or Rome with romantic trip and a 42 inch TV and blu Ray amazing !
Thank you all so much and good luck guys and girls xxxxxx0 -
For cheap but good quality, don't forget Aldi and Lidl, they also have interesting but slightly different ranges too. I also find TKMaxx are good for all ages of children - and adults!I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0

Really great ideas on here!!!:T
The only thing I would add is that you wrap it in tissues or brown paper rather than gift wrapping paper. It will give you more money to spend on the actual gifts.......and psssst!!! buy the tissues from the kids section of your local craft shop, it is cheaper!!!:shhh:0 -
Why not stop buying for the nephews and nieces?0

Why not stop buying for the nephews and nieces?
I buy for children not for adults. It was easier when there was no children = cheap christmas.
Now though I buy for my nieces and nephews because they are young children/believe in santa/it would be mean not to. It is usually some form of token present though depending on age up to £10 each although really it's nearer £5 I shop all year round and can get bargains in the sale that look much more expensive than they really are. The 'rule' is once they get to 18 there's no more presents.
For girls - socks and foot cream/gloves and hand cream (poundland so £2 per present), money box (£4 tesco) ,scarf (bought for £2 in the summer sale), hot choc mug(£2.50 in B and M), sparkly purse and lip salve (£3).
For boys - I've been out today and bought 300g bar of chocolate from poundland to go with a pair of gloves £1. Lynx gift sets (£3 each).0
