Hi Guys
Really hope you can help, money is very tight this christmas, we are struggling with what to buy the children in the family (nieces, nephews & cousins)
We have £100 for all 10 children if we can get this amount lower that would be great. we need to buy for
girls aged 10, 6 & 4
boys aged 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, & 11
I'm not the craftiest of people but i am willing to try
Thanks Lollie xx

There isn't a lot out there for less than £10...
Last year I made a sweet jar for the kids in the family. I brought the jars from IKEA for a couple of pounds each then a load of old fashioned sweets from Ebay. They are really cheap on there. Look for a sweet retailer though, not just any random Bob and Jo. Then I brought some nice ribbon and wrapped it around the topthey looked lovely. I did have a photo of them but I must have deleted it. x

A selection box is plenty.. they aren't your children!
I would never expect more than that from my siblings/aunts/uncles etc.. not that I expect anything from them tbh.. I am thankful for any effort and for extended family to get anything is very much appreciated whatever it is.
If you feel you need to do more.. a mug with a rolled up pair of socks or gloves and a few sweets in the top is more than enough.. children love sweets!..
Or maybe a book each. There are plenty of suitable books for around £5LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
How about some craft kits, you can get some bits and pieces from Yellow Moon or Crafty Crocodiles.
For the girls (6-4) you can go with something like beads and a small mdf chest, that they can decorate to put them in. I did some for my daughter for her birthday party for about £7 each.
For the boys they have some great dinosaur money boxes or wooden craft kits to paint and many other options - as your doing a number of kids you can buy a few selections and then mix and match.
We have always set a £10 limit for kids presents with my nephew and nieces (my brother does the same too), so it means you have to come up with something a bit more creative and personalise things a bit more, not so easy when they get older but then my eldest (12) was thrilled with a hot chocolate hamper last year (Big mug, a tub of hot chocolate, some mini marshmellows, small whisk for frothy milk) and still goes on about it now, unlike the computer games he got.0 -
ELC has the spirograph for £5 instead of £10.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Argos have got some nice toys and craft things for 2 for £15. They've also got an offer on for a free £5 voucher when you spend £50. Plus if you take in a toy to trade in, they will give you another £5 voucher which you could use too.
Total £75 (less possibly £5 trade in voucher and £5 bonus voucher) = £650 -
Why not just look in poundland for all? They do some pretty decent toys for the middle kids, some toiletry sets for the 10 & 11 yr olds and then maybe somewhere like a poundstretcher for toddler toys?0

ELC have half price sale 15th Oct - 3rd Nov... if that helps.

After looking through a teach thread just below yours someone suggested these from Argos, what about splittiing the 12 books between the 2 younger girls? You could also buy 2 packs of colouring pencils for them to go with them quite cheap?

£10 a child is plenty, that's how much I spend on friends' children (or less if I can help it)
I don't know if you've a This is it! shop close to you but I bought Disney Cars and Tangled aquadoodles yday for less than £3. Perfect for little people. Or puzzles for little ones?
You could get them a joint present of a board game? Do a movie hamper (DVD, sweets, popcorn, drinks, snowman soup, reindeer dust, snowman poop, reindeer noses?)
Older girls: Poundshop, 99p shop, Claire's for make up bits (or check out the cosmetics fairy website, they had a massive sale on earlier this week with nail varnishes starting at 49p!) books? In Primark you can pick up hair bits & bobs and more little things for hamper pampers or a nice handbag, scarf? Or you can buy a pair of fluffy socks, 1 nail varnish and a small foot cream and wrap it up with a label on it saying "for your mistle toes"0 -
What about a browse in the Works? They have great offers on children's books (3 for £10, or even 10 for £10 occasionally.)0
