Jealousy when someone else wins

Am always happy to hear someone has a win. I don't get jealous about it, in much the same way as I don't get disappointed when I don't win.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

No because while MSE'ers are winning, the people running the comps either don't know that we're entering from MSE or aren't discriminating against us. Which means that one day I may win a big prize!:beer:0

No I don't get jealous but I think more and more people are doing what you are doing and entering families into comps which is obviously reducing chances of winning due to the sheer volume of entries each comp must be receiving.
Now don't get me wrong there maybe nothing wrong with that if the T&Cs allow and I do not want to get in the debate of entering for others but by doing this although you maybe think you are increasing your chances, if lots of people are doing the same your chances are even less.
I also see so many posts on FB comps from people who are deluded into thinking they they should have won the prize and have obviously no idea of the volumes of entries competitions now receive.
I have always said comping is like a lottery/raffle and is down to one thing only and that is luck. You could enter a comp 100 times, you could enter once and still win. Sheer luck of the draw.

Honestly, nah.
I generally think to myself, well, if it couldn't be me, next best is someone from here.
Currently I'm watching iwiwiw to see if any chromebook wins show up from the Google comp. Had a great time looking through old photos to fit the brief, but I don't tend to win meme type comps.
Hope someone from here does though!
I too had my eye on that comp, it seemed a very good opportunity what with them giving out such a large number. I've been entering 4 or 5 pics daily but as yet not heard anything and today is the last day, so id imagine i've missed out on this one now.0 -
I try not to, after all I've probably won something they're jealous of
The only time I do feel miffed is when there's been 10,000 prizes and everyone seems to have won but me!0 -
Sometimes, but it passes quickly. And I always remind myself that there are times when I've won something that someone else (probably multiple people) has had their heart set on. We can't all win every prize, but we probably all covet prizes that others do. So, you know, swings and roundabouts.
Best medicine - finding the next comp that offers that prize and entering it cos there's always next time, right?February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
I feel like I could get jealous of other people's wins so I make an effort not to read IWIWIW when I feel that way and only look through it when I feel good about comping.
Mostly like Weeowens I just enter and move straight on to the next comp after a brief daydream about how great it'd be to win whatever the prize is. It'd be way to disappointing to invest anything in each prize.
May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx0 -

Lovely though the wins are for other folks, whenever I catch myself thinking wistfully of what I could do with that money or that iPad or whatever, I remind myself that if I seriously wanted that thing, I'd have entered the competition!
Where I really want something I put the effort in - if someone then wins that thing, they entered a competition. Mine I worked for. (Argh - that sounds denigrating to compers who work at it, but it is not intended as such & I hope I'm understood!)0 -
I do feel a twinge occasionally but usually it gives me hope that I too could win0
