I have never felt jealous of anyones win. It is nice to see someone from the forum win and well done to them and tough luck to me, I will keep trying and my turn will come. ;)

I have never set my heart on a certain prize it is all luck/fate/chance doing competitions.

Would you spend the very last pound in your purse on a lottery ticket because you might win...or buy a loaf of bread so you could eat toast for a few days ;)

I read the IWIWIW thread most days because it gives me hope one day it will be me

I can understand your thoughts OP. I do feel slightly jealous when I see somebody win a big prize but then I think its great that a person in our forum has won it. I love reading peoples stories of how pleased they are to win xx item and it spurs me on even more.

I'm terribly envious of the people on this thread that they don't feel envy .:wall:

I feel envious, but I don't dwell on it. I rarely spend time thinking about winning and take the approach that weeowens mentioned earlier.

I do get a bit grrrrrr when I read that someone has won their 5th laptop that year (maybe slightly exaggerated :D ) and I've been desperately trying to win just the one for about 18 months now.

On the whole though, I am happy for them when others win. You can't win them all!

  • I felt some serious green-eyed monster attack when I didn't win (or place in) a manicure competition earlier this year.
I spent just over 3 hours doing some nail art with miniature sequins (all individually placed), gradiants, striping, freehand art etc. Placed in the final 25 shortlist out of around 300 entries, and then it went to a FB vote for the finalists - the top 10 would feature in the relevant magazine, with 1 overall winner and several runners up. And I didn't place. No idea who won, but I remember looking at the other finalists and seeing a plain french mani and a plain red mani in there too and inwardly groaning.
I got overexcited and evidently a - didn't win the FB publicity vote thing, and more imporantly b - didn't fit the demographic for their editorial. I felt a very sore loser and was very surprised by it to be honest even though in hindsight bright green and weird nail art isn't really what that woman's magazine were probably wanting to talk about. And now? Now I'm just embarrassed that I couldn't have been happy for whoever DID win!
  • I'm currently getting annoyed on behalf of other people who entered the Google Chromebook comp :rotfl: Looking through all the entries, there are some really fabulous ones that haven't won and some pretty average ones that have.

I just enter & forget about the comp.

If it comes back as a win that's great. If not it is not a problem as we have thousands to play with each month.

I'm just pleased that some win :-)

I agree with you - I enter then don't even think about the comp anymore - only if I win because obviously I am notified. I also never read the IWIWIW board so I don't really get jealous.
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea

I don't think they've finished voting/allocating the prizes yet though as there were over 200 left to giveaway when I first looked this morning (and submitted some entries), and I haven't seen any new rosettes against pictures in any of the categories. Plus, my entries are only just now showing up. I think they are moderated before they are available for all to see and then, perhaps, go into the voting pile.

Keeping my fingers crossed anyway! lol

But I know what you mean about the average pics winning!

PS. It is now very clear to me that a lot of people don't know what a selfie is.

I think a lot of people don't post their wins because of jealousy.

I have always tried to congratulate big winners, its fantastic to know MSErs are winning, via free entry methods.

I have felt disappointment when not winning, because I had purchased many codes to try and enter.. but that's because I had outlayed money - almost like gambling.

But nothing is guaranteed, everything is a bonus.
    Wishing you all good luck!
