3 mobile sim in my old 2g phone?

Am thinking of switching to 3 mobile (I make loads of international calls to USA/Canada and they offer a package of £15 a month unlimited international calling) - but they don't offer a good phone, can I therefore use the 3G sim in my old Nokia 6610i (I am curently on O2, on a 3G plan and can successfully use that sim in my 6610i).

if 3 find out you are using a non 3g phone (eg yours) they will prevent you from using that sim in your nokia for some odd reason

i tried doing this but they restricted my account they have a way of finding out what phone u are using the nokia 6288 is an ok phone to use on three

I would like to know if this is possible too as i am thinking of going with 3 but would like to carry on using my Nokia N80.

12345ayn, when you say they restrict your account what exactly do they stop you being able to do ?

They will stop you doing everything apparently,they are very funny when doing things like this
