Avoid the Argos tablet, it really is rubbish.

The hudl is great and offers better value for money than most, but don't take my word for it. Check out the Hudl User Group website for independent user reviews (Link in my profile).

Nexus, kindle etc are all good, too.

would I be totally mad in re buying a nexus 7 32 gb? Preferably from a shop that isn't gunna go bust! They are such good peices of kit, just think I have been really unlucky with my original one??

Must admit you are the first i have heard having real problems .
I would have no hesitation in buying one .

Be careful to check reviews on these type of brands, they're prone to screen, overheating, and electrical problems.

I know it's old technology but I love my Blackberry Playbook. I got a Hudl a few days ago and I like it but I think that the video quality, sound quality and particularly the video camera and photos on the Playbook are far better. You can get a 64gb Playbook for about £120 with refurbished ones costing much less. There are plenty of sensible apps available but no Skype.
