Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for cheap Halloween party ideas?

I've found a couple of resources pages below but anything else you've know of would be appreciated, particularly activities or games. Not sure how to keep a room full of 8 year olds entertained for four hours!

Halloween Survival Guide

Halloween Printables

Any help appreciated!

Poundland is great for Halloween props. I got some black netting cheaply and hung it from the ceiling and put the giant poundland spiders on it. Put a disposable clear rubber glove filled with red coloured squash in the freezer and float this around in a bowl of squash. A balloon under a sheet can act as a good ghost prop. If you have an ipod download lots of spooky songs and noises to play. Games we have found good for children are boobing for apples in a bwol of water. Getting packs of cheap toilet rolls and splitting the children into teams with one as a "mummy" and the team that can wrapped the mummy quickest in toilet roll wins. Pin the nose on the witch. Traditional games such as statues can be done as muscial zombies.. For food Jelly with some spooky eye type jelly sweets is fun. You can do a rocky road cake (broken biscuits and chocolate) with chocolate fingers sticking up with red icing on the end. Trays of cakes with spiders decorating them.
  • Thank you so much, I love all of those ideas, the floating hand sounds perfect! The suggestions for twists on traditional games are great too.

Think I'll pop down to Poundland this afternoon and see what I can find. :)
