The £1 test payment isn't always a solution. Some fixed term accounts for example allow only one deposit.
True. But the other 99.9% of transactions will support it.

And would that test payment not be flagged up as a suspicious transaction by most banks ??
That would cause more problems would it not.

Since I transferred £4k to a wrong account I always do a £1 test payment. Never caused a problem

Virgin savings don't seem to like you doing this - I changed my nominated bank and then sent a £1 test payment. It went through so I followed it with a larger amount, it said that it was successful but then I got a phone call at 8pm that evening on my mobile with a message to phone them. Called back the next day with endless security questions, they told me to redo the transaction as first one had been cancelled. Bit of a pain but better than sending money to the wrong place!

I've never had a problem sending a test payment first either, but I normally check, check, triple check, then send a tenner. Lets face it if I still got the account numbers wrong after all that, I'd deserve to lose the tenner

"Mone transferred to wrong bank acount"

Maybe mone is a misspelling of moan and the title should read -
Moan, transferred to wrong bank acount. (account);)
