S&S are run by the guy behind myprotein (no longer involved after selling to The Hut Group), Oliver Cookson. He's very proactive online and his companies tend to have top notch customer service - it might be an idea to contact themhelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
This looks like a very old thread but since it still pops up when I Google saints and slimmers I thought I would paste my 2 cents.
I currently use exante as I am on a very low calorie diet to reverse my type 2 diabetes. for info on how that's possible Google Newcastle diabetes study.
I have lost over 10kg in just under 6 weeks. HOWEVER I do foresee a problem when it comes to maintaining my ideal weight because artificial sweeteners like sacralose might cause long term damage with prolonged use.
So my interest in S&S began with a review written on the exante website talking about S&S's naturally sweetened shakes.
I have yet to try them because I have boxes of other company's shakes, but they appear to be good.
As I diabetic I was worried by the apparently high sugar content of most company's diet products. However sticking to 600 calories per day (with medical supervision) I have achieved frankly stunning results.
If I were starting over though I would be using Saints and slimmers naturally sweetened shakes AND exante for ready meals, soups and snack bars. There prices are better and all there products have a similar calorie count.
I also considered Optifast as a possibility however, the artificial sweeteners they use like aspartame, are in my opinion more harmful than sacralose and Nestle's pricing on these products is by far the least competitive.0 -

Surely you can deal with your Diabetes by eating real food ?

Surely spam isn't real food either?0

meer53,
OK so you want to accuse a brand new member for spamming in there first post despite the BIG sign saying be nice to newbies posted right next to it.
Perhaps you should re read my post do a little research and find out what happens if you try to deal with diabetes by eating "real food", as apposed to say, following medical advice.
Were talking blindness, stroke, paralysis, loss of limb, premature death and so forth.
So do you perhaps want to say something a little more constructive. than you can fit in two lines of ill considered flippancy.
How about "Thanks for letting us know there is a cheaper company selling similar products and for pointing out the part of the S&S range that's worth the extra money."
Just an example of what you could have said.0 -
I was very interested to come across your post - albeit a year late! I too have type 2 diabetes and have just come across the Newcastle uni research...........can I ask what made you choose exante in the first place? I'm just trying to work out which brand to use - big difference between VLCD's and over the counter meal replacement shakes from local shops clearly. I used to live in Australia and used Optifast for a while, didn't realise how hard it was to get hold of! I have looked at the Saints & Slimmers also - how have you got on and can you recommend one over the other by any chance?0

I'm always impressed how many people register, find DT and post on an old thread.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
