This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Flying visit again and can't believe it's Monday already but did manage to get quite a bit done this weekend.
Busy day at work today and need to get some reading up done for interview tomorrow, am starting to get really nervous about that.
My individual redundancy consultation should have been this week too but have managed to get it delayed until next week. Oh well it will give me an extra week's pay if nothing else!
YS Toulouse sausages and cauli mash for dinner.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning everyone.
Absolutely chucking it down outside here in the north east this morning!
Need to get up in a minute to have a shower and get ready for work. Going to try again to bring my doctors appointment forward from Thursday but I'm not holding out much hope!
BF is suffering very badly with his back at the moment, he's back on the doctors radar for it so hopefully he will get referred back to the hospital.
Had a good weekend doing not a huge amount! Really enjoyed Downton last night! It was a fab episode :-)
No idea what's for tea tonight, probably just something out of the freezer!
Good luck for the interview tomorrow TTFTM!
Hope everyone has a good day!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Morning all
Off to work now , it's still dark outside but I think it's wet
Need to pick up,some hay and food for the piggies on my way back
Got a very busy week at work this week , not looking forward to it as I know it will also create a lot of stress and I feel stressed enough without more
Not sure what's for tea yet
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Good morning chums dark and gloomy outside at the moment .DD says its supposed to snow next month !!! I do hope not,as yet my heating is still off as its really not too cold.Cardi's have come out of the wardrobe though along with my knitted blanket for my knees in the evening if it gets too chilly Last year I bought one of The White Company's thick white dressing gowns which I can wrap myself in when I get out of the shower Its really nice and very warm. DD bought the two youngest boys onsies yesterday at Primarni's and Henry's one is a wolf and he is so chuffed with it.Mikey's is grey and he said its nice and cosy.Their house at times can be a bit chilly as the dogs are in and out all the time so a lot of heat gets wasted.Older dog has learned how to open the back door to come inside but not shut it
:) so at times I am yelling 'Shut that Door' in my best Larry Grayson voice
This morning I have knit and natter at the local library which costs nothing and we even get a free cuppa.Tomorrow I have my U3A coffee morning at Dobbies.I have a Dobbies card which gives me 2 free coffees a month as it only costs around £12.00 a year and you get good discount its well worth it as a coffee is around a couple of quid so over the year I do save quite a bit.
Well time to get a wriggle on as I have the school run to do this morning
take care everyone and keep warm and dry if possible
Cheers JackieO xxx0 -
Bore da all,
Almost at the end of a night shift, finish at 0900 and back in for 6 tonight! I hate this turn around but it's only two nights a shift and I'm on leave next shift
Toffee cheesecake went down well, kept us going
Either left over shepherds pie and veg or left over takeaway for tea tonight before coming in and nothing but brekkie and a long-ish sleep today. Oh, I will get the local paper and do the crossword and sudoku to help me unwind before bed.
Will catch up with everyone later.
Hugs to anyone who fancies one.

Good morning everyone :j
I can't believe it's Monday again! The weeks are just flying by. Hubby has booked a day off so he's still in bed and the girls are rushing around making packed lunches and getting ready for school. I have let the housework slide whilst I have been unwell so today I'm going to get as much done as possible before my grandson turns up.
Tea tonight will be bacon and spinach pasta for me and the girls and hubby will have pie, baked spud and vegetables as he can't eat the creme fraiche in the pasta sauce due to his lactose intolerance. He was absolutely delighted that I found some dairy-free ice cream for him the other day in Tescos but at £4.79 a pot it will stay as an occasional treat.
I need to do some baking today as well as the tins are empty apart from a very unpopular coconut and orange loaf my daughter made last week. I don't know what happened but it is very dense and unappetising. Cake normally disappears within a day or so , so for this to still be around a week later shows how grim it is. I think I will put it out for the birds, maybe they can choke it down :rotfl::rotfl:
Well, hope everyone has a great day, hugs as always for those who would like one. Take care.
Cheers m'dears x0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Wet and windy here again this morning.
DH up and now getting ready to go into work. Boys up and had their brekkie, now getting sorted for respective college/school.
Dinner yesterday was beef casserole, which I put in the slow cooker before DH and I went out yesterday morning - was delicious again and the meat didn't taste funny. Don't think the weather was very good anywhere yesterday we drove through many roads that were flooded right across the road and it rained on and off all day and isn't much better this morning.
Back to work today for me, no doubt it will be a manic Monday - so hopefully the day will pass quickly.
Keep safe and well x

I watched F&F 6 yesterday. Loved the tank, loved the plane even more
Thanks for the comments about my blanketThose 92 hours were spread out over 3-4 months, if I hadn't taken breaks for other projects I'd have driven myself crazy
Next project – little stars to hang on a twig tree, Christmas bunting (already started those two) and baby blankets.

I know, I frightened myself when I worked it out
For the S&G, I just go into Boots on the day, our local one has loads delivered. I'll pop in and get some of the 2-for-1s though, thanks dumpling

Dark and rainy here, the washing will be draped around the house again. I can't quite keep up so I'm going to give in and put the dryer on *grumble*. While the machines are doing their thing, I'll be designing baby blankets.

Good morning all.
*snore*
Ds 2 was awake in the night. Had to bring him in with me as he wouldn't settle. So I couldn't sleep as was paranoid he'd fall out of bed. He's got a low toddler bed with a bed guard.
Awful weather here still. Will take the older 2 to school as do t want them to be soaked at the start of the day. Youngest can also go to school. Was going to keep him off but he's bright & buzzing so he can go to school & I will let the teacher know he might be tired later in the day.
Got LO chicken for tea tonight. Chicken fried rice for me dd & ds2. Fussy ds1 can have chicken with potato waffles & beans.
Got a long list of stuff to do today. Feel utterly exhausted though so will just make sure the bathrooms are clean along with the kitchen & will Hoover.
Good luck with your interview tomorrow TTFTM.
Jackie, my children are no better with the doors. I find myself saying "were you born in a barn" at them!
Nmlc, I keep meaning to say, you've done wonderfully with your weight loss. I need to lose weight but it keeps finding me...!
Right, off to get ds2 ready for school. He won't wee in school so had better make sure he goes before.
Have a good day all.
Love, hugs & spoons xxx0 -
Morning all
Damp here again today, hubby is on the late shift today so he's still in bed, I've just got out the shower and I'm wrapped in my toweling robe, we both have a cuppa.
I need to run the vacuum round later and do a bit of sewing.
I did a cheats roast dinner y'day, pork chop for hubby with roasties, stuffing, yorkies, parsnip, cauli, carrots and peas, I had the same minus the chop & there is enough left over veg for my tea tonight. Hubby doesn't eat when he get home from late shift as it's gone ten.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0
