Missing Signs - What's to be done ?

My further enquiries about this car park (Hawkshead Car and Coach Park in the Lakes) to David Compliance Manager at the BPA resulted in this ...
I have contacted Parking Eye again and can confirm the following:-- Parking eye do not enforce on this car park and currently have no intention of enforcing there.
- The entrance “P” sign was erected on the 5th November 2013.
I did mention in my initial reply that they were prioritising the signage and I am delighted to say it has already been done.
So, I'm a bit intrigued as to why the car park has the PE ticket machine, ANPR cameras pointing at it and the usual posters around the site and if they will not be 'enforcing' why PE have put an entrance sign up (presumably at their cost) for zero return other than the basic parking fee !
However, potential parkers BEWARE .. there are other PE 'managed' sites in the vicinity which do have signs so are no doubt 'enforced'.0 -
That's odd. Why would they put up a sign only the other week, what's in it for PE?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Mr David (BPA Operations Manager) says ...
ParkingEye are employed by Lake District National Park to manage various car parks, including this car park. ParkingEye currently maintain and manage the systems, but don’t issue charges in this particular area. The client wanted PE to erect signage and put in a payment machine.
So there you have it ... must be a first, anyone in the locality know what the signs say - I won't be back there for a few weeks to check ... I can only assume there is no mention of charges on them then. Anyone had an invoice from this car park ? I must say I find this unusual....

Well, I spent a couple of days in Hawkshead recently, lovely place, even in winter (apart from the infestation of course).
The accommodation I was staying at gave me a permit (which they had bought for their guests from the council) issued by the real 'authority' to park to display in my car.
Whilst parking up, I had a chat with a couple of the rangers who quite categorically confirmed that I was OK with the South Lakeland council permit but whatever I did, I should NOT park "over the road" with it ... they knew the score and smiled knowingly !!
Hopefully, not long left for those "over the road" ....:rotfl::T0
