Anyone had a bore hole installed?

Options
Anyone around Herts or Watford or the NW London area had a bore hole installed to tap into their own water supply?

Any recommended suppliers? Also what are your views after having it installed? Is it safe to use the water from a bore hole for a swimming pool?

Thx.

This is on the site of a Northants company:

Plenty of info on water quality etc

Thanks, yes I came across that site a while ago. Have you had one installed or know anyone who had one installed? Any feedback?

    Thanks.

A thing to remember is that part of your water bill is for waste water disposal as well as supply.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

The groundwater in Hertfordshire is typically very hard (as I'm sure you know if you live there) and also quite alkaline (high pH). If you plan to use it for a swimming pool don't forget to factor in the costs of reducing the pH to around 7.4 or so. It takes a lot more effort to alter the pH of a water containing lots of minerals ("well buffered") than a soft water ("poorly buffered"). Mains water is already pH-adjusted by your water company.
