I've come back to post that Baumatic are now in Administration! I've just called to try to get an update on when my integrated microwave is likely to be repaired, having just forked out £112 for the engineers visit & was greeted by a phone message telling me that they are in Administration.

Blooming great, so that's obviously £112 of my hard earned money down the drain & I'm left with an expensive non functioning combi microwave oven.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

When our old extractor conked out, we bought a new one from Wickes for £50 and fitted it ourselves. Never imagined it was as simple as it was!

Ours is the type that has a kitchen cupboard above it. You just screw the new one into the cupboard above, and wire in the power. It's not a normal plug - it's one where you connect the wire into a wall socket. We had a sparky friend double-check what we'd done and it was fine.

The only bit that was a pain the behind was that the big round vent that goes out of the top of the unit was in a *slightly* different position on the new one, by less than 1cm! It meant we had to enlarge the hole in the base of the cupboard above, which was a bit of a faff. Whole thing still only took a couple of hours though. :money:
