BT broadband package - check yours

In effect, since then they have introduced a price cut that you have to speak to them to benefit from. Many providers of servies (e.g. Sky TV, gas, electricity) have a standard price and then a better price for customers who ask for the better price. In those situations you don't get anything for paying the higher, standard price. So the fact that someone paying for the package you were paying for could have got a better service seems a little irrelevant. When i signed up about 18 months ago, there was only one infinity unlimited package which cost me £26/month.
I agree that customers should be told when they could benefit from price-drops, but currently that doesn't happen across the board so I doubt that there is anything you can do other than appeal to their goodwill.
This strikes me as the equivalent of the refund that you want - if not better.NB they wouldn't refund me any money, but they offered me 12mths at £19.65 for Infinity1 instead of £26. I told them to shove it. I'm thinking of changing to Sky 6mths free and £20/mth thereafter.0 -
Thanks for all your replies, but BT are still charging for something that is impossible to deliver. I take the point about the other utilities i.e. gas but they are delivering the same service at a different rates. Happy to pay for infinity 2 if BT pull their finger out and upgrade the line so that I could recieve 40 -80mg0

Just received my latest bill, see they have dropped the £9.85 credit for infinity one. Informed me that this was a 1 year offer only and would now revert to almost £19 per month. Will try customer retention next but looks like I'll be looking for a different provider, might try Sky as I have HD plus with multi room so may get a good deal for the total package.0

NickCC, Sky are offering 6 months free then £20/month. This is for fibre with allegedly the same speed as BT. I'm going try Sky.

I used to get 16Mbps before changing to fibre with BT which was more than fast enough for my needs as my laptop on wifi can only give me 20Mbps. Sky can give me unlimited broadband (not fibre) for app £3.35 per month for twelve months then app £7.50 thereafter so will be going for this. The total package with Sky, landline with anytime calls, Sky HD with multiroom and movies and broadband comes to just over £85 per month which is a saving per month off app £20.
Will try BT again but will almost certainly be changing to Sky.0
