I used to do that (eat the cold leftovers later) too....
But since not having a Chinese for a few weeks and not enjoying the one we had last weekend, I just couldn't imagine doing that anymore. Don't mean to sound smug, sorry!0 -

No, I know what you mean. It's a few weeks since we last had a chinese, and that was the first in several weeks, but I just didn't enjoy it the same and didn't touch the leftovers either!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Yes, I guess so. I've always been a veeeeery slow eater, and as a child I used to be annoyed at myself as it was embarrassing being the only child left finishing lunch while the rest were playing. But I'm glad I never learned to eat much faster as I do think it helps me tend to eat a bit less. Though I'm not as slow as I used to be - I could take about half an hour to eat one rich tea!!

I stretch Chinese takeaway food by cooking my own rice, Pizzas we normally order early in the week when they are on BOGOF or a special deal & freeze the spare before we get a chance to eat it. That way we get 2 takeaways for the price of one, Hubby doesn't feel at all deprived 'cos he knows there's another one just around the corner;) I must live in an expensive area, Chines food is usually £15 for 4 dishes (plus home cooked rice), Pizza is usally £20 for a large pizza & 2 garlic breads (scrummy-better-than-the-pizza-so-wouldn't-want-to-go-without type garlic bread:rolleyes: ) .Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

Yay for old style, saving us money AND our health! :j
(And off topic, sorry, but I've just realised that I must've hit the 2,000 post mark at some point during this thread and "talking" to you Curry Queen, so yay for that too! Everyone have a virtual [low sugar, low salt, low fat, of course!] beer on me! )0 -

I'd say that's about the same price as round here (Wolverhampton) for Chinese as main courses are between £3.50 and £6.00ish for the specials. Do you eat four main dishes plus rice between the two of you Lillibet? (Sorry to be so nosey!)

Ooooop North they tend to give you free rice/noodles/chips with a main dish but darn sarf they're much tighter and you have to pay for it which makes a meal much more expensive!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Cheers CQ!
We only get free rice (boiled, it's extra for fried) with curries - I guess because we're in the middle we get half the benefit of the North, hehe!0 -

2 main dishes & 2 starters plus rice between 2 of us, is that unreasonable? Uusally enough leftover for one freezable meal but that's a bonus. We only have it as an occasional treat so I don't see any point in holding back:oPost Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
