I have a kindle an early one with the keyboard and I love it. I was thinking of buying daughter one for Christmas. I have lots of books on mine and she reads same kind of books as me.
If I register that with Amazon ans my second one will I be able to tarnsfere my books to hers
I know if she downloads any books they will be charged to me and I don't mind that
Thanks for any advice.

Simple answer is yes!
Some books you may have to remove from your device so that the other one can read it.
My personal experience is that all the books I have can be read on the 2nd device.0 -
Thanks for your quick reply, will they automatically be transferred if not how do I do it please.
Whe I got the kindle app on my iPad they were automatically transferred on there and I wondered if it would be the same thing0 -
Yes. Register the new Kindle to you as is your original one, you should be able to name it a different device so you know which one is which. You will be able to download any or all the books you have already bought from your Kindle / Amazon Cloud, even if you already have them on your original Kindle.
I bought a Paperwhite this year and got one for my wife to and am thinking of getting my son one for Xmas. They are by far and away the single best 'gadget' I have ever bought, I absolutely love it.0 -
All your previous purchases will ne available unde 'manage my kindle' if you log in to amazon on your PC0

Thanks I will have a look at that now.0

Reading the above with interest. Does this mean that if I bought the new paperwhite and linked it to my amazon account that all my previous purchases would download to the new kindle?0

Thanks Southerndave for that advice, it sounds good. I agree it's best thing I have bought too, I do read a lot and get some really good cheap books from Amazon0

All the titles will download to the new Kindle and be shown under the 'Cloud' tab. You can then download each book file to the new device at your leisure. It's often a good idea not to download all of them, just a few that your reading or about to read. That keeps your Kindle working faster because it doesn't run out of space or spend endless time re-indexing books on the machine.... Thanks oblivion that is what I was hoping for.0

Thank you
The intention of buying the new kindle was because my current one is almost full.... so I wouldn't really want all my previous purchases downloading to the new one.
