and therefore will no doubt live a life on benefits paid for by the rest of us.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
On a related subject, if anyone knows where to get some rubber gloves from for less than £1 per box, I am all ears!0

And yes, unlike many would-be-criminals think, you don't do time for the money. You have to repay the proceeds of crime also. The proceeds of crime they will have to pay is the 30,000 they made, not the 3000 they stole, and I expect this couple, one sat in a wheel chair and the other looking like she can bearly lift her own weight, I expect will probably never finish paying it.
If only that were true brian. Unfortunetly the 'proceeds of crime' act was aimed at seizing assets accrued through crime ; these people have no net assets.
Without the job in the NHS they will declare themselves bancrupt and have a laughably small amount deducted from benefits for a short time.0 -
OK, but I'm replying to the point that they only got a slap on the wrist, and while some of my finer points may be wrong, the general point that they are screwed for life I believe is basically correct. Would you really want to live looking like they do on benefits and with no aspiration?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. The oddest part of the story are the figures, the article claims they stole £3k of stock and sold it for £30K, even allowing for NHS discounts that's some mark up.

Given this could go back to 2004, I guess it would take a team a huge amount of time to break down, analyse and record exactly what every sale of the 30K consisted of. And given the report states they pleaded guilty, I guess there's no merit in spending more public funds on digging any deeper..0
