Do You Have A Roast Dinner Each Sunday?

We always try to do roast on a Sunday - even if its a lazy one - cooked chicken, frozen yorkies, gravy granules, tinned veg.

Not every Sunday, but most when me and OH aren't off doing something else (or being fed somewhere else) we'll do a roast, depending on what's in the supermarket as we sometimes don't go shopping til Sunday

We go to my Mums every Sunday, she likes us to come for dinner as she would not have one otherwise, I offer to make it but she insists. When Mum is away I dont usually do a Sunday roast as suh but we will have a dinner of some kind.

My parents have done a Sunday roast every Sunday for as long as I can remember. Even if it's just the two of them, which it has been for the last few years. They have chicken, lamb and beef most often, and occasionally pork.
I never have a roast myself. I live alone and I'm not a HUGE meat fan. I prefer a done in 30 minutes sort of meal.

We have a "Sunday" roast 1 day a week (not necessarily Sunday) depends on what im working x

I don't cook a roast every weekend, in fact it's been some time since I did as I find roasts quite stressful lol and can't do with getting all that hot and bothered in the warmer months!

I've done the meal plan for the coming month with a roast every 2nd sunday however, and some other hearty meal with lots of veg on the other sundays.

I wonder what my MIL would think if she worked out that I don't cook a roast every week. She once slagged off DH's brothers fiance as she 'never once cooked your poor brother a sunday dinner' to which I replied 'Maybe she doesn't like roast dinners?'. Having said that, if I do happen to be cooking a roast on a Sunday morning when they invite themselves around, it is hinted that I am being incredibly rude for spending so much time in the kitchen. :EasterBun

I would think a lot of people now can not due to it being a working day?

I have not done it often for a few years now, either too busy trying to put the home together or out doing things. I'm more inclined to do it on a quieter day midweek when I have the time and it is a pleasure.

I'm also aware of the cost factor

always do one without fail - we find them quite easy now having practiced for ages! Had beef last night, and made enough veg for bubble & squeak tonight with the leftovers. yum!!

We're veggie so sunday lunch isn't quite as much work, but even so we don't have it every week (today its lasagne, for example). Usual Sunday lunch for us it roast spuds, mash, loads of veggies (peas/corn/carrots/broccoli), sage+onion stuffing, yorkshires, gravy, and meat replacement of choice - i like nut roast but OH doesn't so other options are veggie sausages, 'chicken' fillets, even veggieburgers. I try to suggest cooking a roast before OH does cus he hardly does any roast spuds when he cooks :rotfl:
