PS. Don't forget to use the Norton removal tool, as Asus has recommended.0 -
Hi Donnie, I would love to know whats in your PMs
anything you can share?
My guess would be about how "rubbish" AVG is and advising on using something else, based on what Donnie sometimes has posted in the past when AVG has been recommended.
Edit: eg http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=424686"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Mmmm AVG rubbish, I dont think so, not as good as Avast I will agree there but not rubbish (ok maybe just a bit crap then), but then again you should run a scan in safe mode and it has no resident shield, I say use AVG as Its a pain when people say Oooh wheres my license how do I download it blah blah blah, if they really want security the should forget both of them and get something like bit defender, kapersky or nod32 or any other top notch bit of security. But if thats the case why the PM?

Who knows. Only complete speculation but from memory Donnie's contention (and I hate presuming other people's assertions) was that many/most people on here with virus/trojan problems had AVG installed and therefore AVG wasn't really any good at being an actual anti-virus app. Whether Donnie wanted to avoid any debate again about that I don't know. But no worries from me as I exhausted everything I had to say last time and I'm currently trialling NOD32 anyway.
Edit: as I said I don't like presuming to know what other people's intentions/thoughts are so I apologise to Donnie for every inaccuracy."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I have found AVG to be ok, its better than nothing but it doesnt find everything and removal is another matter.
There are much better products available but as this is a money saving site you cant get cheaper than AVG.0 -

If homealone is happy with me revealing the contents of our PM, then I can do so.
I use NOD32 and Kaspersky on my computers. Haven't had problem with either.0
