21 Hours Thomas Cook Delay

Options
Hi Guys,

I was delayed 21 hours on the 30/09/13 flying from Antalya to Manchester Airport. When we got on the coach they said we was delayed 4 hours from the start, fair enough I wasn't bothered about claiming anything but then they made us wait until 1.25 in the morning to tell us that we wasn't flying out until the next day. They knew for 4 hours the plane hadn't set off from Manchester so why did they make us wait all that time ?. The plane had a defect which they couldn't fix and then cabin crew went out of hours.

Just a quick question ...
I'm new to all of this claiming and i understand there is set compensation depending on the distance which i believe mine would be 400 Euros. Im using the Martin Lewis template but I'm wanting more than 400 Euros, Should I claim i want more than 400 Euros in the selection bit and then go on for loss of earnings compensation etc, or should i state more in the top part where i want to claim back? What would be best?

I know of someone who got 1200 Euros back from a 7 hour delay from Tunisia and thought I'd try get back as much as i could for the major inconvenience it caused me and my partner.

Any help would be greatfull in advance,
Thanks, Dan

You are probably better starting with the FAQs
The compensation is a a set figure based on the distance (and in some cases the length of the delay)
For your flight you would get the same amount whether you were delayed 3 hours and 1 minute or 48 hours
You can claim for the fixed amount and any expenses that the airline should have provided - eg did you get a hotel room provided. If no, did you pay for one? if so you can claim this back, same for meals
The airlines do not cover loss of earnings, you can check your travel insurance but it is unlikely they do either

The person who got €1200 must have been claiming for their entire party

Hi. My wife and I were on the flight that was due to leave Manchester on 30th at 1355 that would have brought you back so we were delayed 21 hours in Manchester.
I have just used the template to compose the letter and I am going to post it off tomorrow.
I also had a look at the Thomas Cook web site and found a complaints department template that can be filled in on line with your complaint.
Has anyone ever used it successfully?
