Life- so far the year from hell

just sitting musing here and if I really believed in reincarnation I think I must have been one hell of an evil witch in an earlier life.
In the space of 5 months, I've separated, moved home and suffered 2 bereavements and now sitting here waiting to hear of 3rd (hopefully not).
In context, within 3 weeks, my marriage broke down, I lost my best friend to cancer, had to move over 300 miles arriving back home the day before her funeral. Unemployed, on my own and no money.
A month later my uncle died, unfortunately I couldn't afford to go to funeral.
Now i'm sitting here by the phone waiting to hear about my Nana who was taken into hospital last week with a broken pelvis and now has pneumonia and kidney problems.
The good points, well I think my cat still loves me (well I hope so though he is missing his garden, having had to move from a 4 bed house to a top floor flat) ach he probably hates me.
I've got a job and I won a tenner on the lottery.
Well there is still 3 months of this year left, just wondering what next, surely it can't be all bad news.
Fingers crossed.

Big Hugs xxxx to you .
Life for some people runs smoothly or so we think.
Having a similar run of sad events like yourself I never thought I
Would see the other side.
What kept me going was just focussing on a good memory or person in my life and a good sense of humour saw me through.
Hope you overcome all these trials soon xLight travels faster than sound.
This is why some people seem as bright until you hear them.0 -
Here is to the rest of 2013 being far kinder to you than the last few months have been OP. It is hard enough to cope with a relationship breakdown, relocating, bereavement and unemployment singularly. For these traumatic events to all of hit your life in such quick succession, must have left you reeling at times. Yet you are coping, have secured employment and are settling into a new home. Well done you for being such a strong and resilient person. I really hope that your nan will pull through and be okay, and that life gets better for you soon. Take care
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
I'm sure your cat is quite content with his new pad!
Well done on keeping/getting a job during such a sh!tty time and fingers crossed your Nan has a speedy recovery!0 -
you know what, I've discovered I have tear ducts.
Your responses have reduced me to tears. thank you. I didn't think I could feel anymore. I felt I had turned to stone.
Thank you all so much.

I would say this year for you (as the queen famously said - has been an 'annus horribilis') - it may well be over!

Thumper,
I have not been through nearly half of what you have in my life, let alone such a short space of time.
I don't post often, but I am very sincerely wishing you all the luck in the world and my best wishes.
Everyone deserves a little happiness. I really hope things look up for you (and for your cat!!) in the future.

Thumper, I've learned that the human spirit can cope with much more than we ever thought possible. I've suffered a little more than what you've described happening to you & I never ever thought I'd laugh or smile or even want to breath again, but somehow we go on, even though we can lose the will to live.
Your humour is still alive & kicking, your cat no doubt loves you & you him so there is some brightness in your life, even though it might only seem to be shining through rather dimly at the moment.
Will next year be any better? Who knows, sometimes we think it can't get any worse & that we've suffered more than enough & then life gives us another massive kick. But if you don't manage to get back up & fight next year, then you will the year after.
One day you'll be able to look back & wonder just how on earth you got through the dark days & life will begin to treat you much more tenderly.
You've done well so far with what you've had to & are continuing to cope with, so be very, very proud of yourself. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
