EE upgrade to 4G

I had a call from Orange/EE about 3 weeks ago, trying to sell me an upgrade from my existing 3G contract to 4G.
As the terms were that the contract would expire on exactly the same as my existing contract does, and would cost the same, together with an increase to my data allowance I said "yes."
So I'm awaiting a new SIM card, and have been for about 3 weeks now. Has anyone had this upgrade - and if so how long did it take before you got the new SIM card?
(The obvious answer is to ring EE, but that's far too painful an option from my recent experiences with them.)

Are you sure it was EE and not some third party company pretending to be to claim the upgrade commission.
Do you have a 4g compatible phone?0 -
I'd previously checked that the number I was called from was one of those listed on the EE website as being one of their numbers, but your post did put some doubts in my mind, so I took a deep breathe and phoned them.
Eventually I got to the bottom of it - yes, they'd offered me the upgrade on those terms, but they'd found that they couldn't do it because I'm in a "Yourgroup" and so I'd need to break that and start getting 4 different bills now.
So they'd done nothing - no need to tell me that or communicate in any way, of course.....0 -
Dirk, I took this offer in the summer.
depending on when your billing date is depends on when you will be sent the sim - I think they wait till the end of your current billing month or something like that.
I agreed the same - that the contract would still expire OCT2014 as per my tmobile contract. Be careful as this didn't show up automatically on my account (It showed JAN2015 end date). I did speak to someone using their online webchat who said they could see a note on my account so they changed it to OCT14 expiry - this was no problem at all but just make sure you check.0
