Bought a table from JD williams, when I unpacked it I found it was damaged.
I rang them up..ok we'll organise a collection for the Wednesday..3 weeks later and I am still waiting.
I called them, oh someone from the courior company will phone 24hrs before collection. So waited, and waited, and waited, and waited.
I now have to phone them again and say, no one has phoned, I am not staying in everyday for the off chance of a phone call!
I am getting extremely frustrated with this, last time I called them they said my number was not working, I have told them that my phone does not accept witheld number calls ! I have an answering service, even though a call came from somewhere in Manchester no message was left and I don't go calling numbers I don't recognise!
I am getting so fed up with this now! If they don't collect it soon it can go to the binmen!

Maybe you could get the courier tele no off them and arrange the pick up with them.0

I used to work for JD Williams some years ago as a courier.
I don't know if they still have couriers like I was. i.e all the parcels were delivered to my house every morning by Parcelforce. I then checked them in and sorted them into runs for the day. Also dealt with the returns in my area.
Occasionally I'd get a request for a return for an item like yours. Big items should have been delivered and returned through Parcelforce.
Back then you were paid 30p for a return, hence no way would I touch a large item that probably wouldn't fit into my car anyway. Customers used to get irrate but it wasn't my part of my job to deal with heavy, bulky items.
I don't know if they still run this personal courier system. If they do then maybe it is a breakdown in communication between HO, the personal courier and or Parcelforce (if they still use them).
Not much help to you I know but just thought it might explain it a bit, if it's still at all relevant.0 -
It's definately not parcelforceThe "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 10

Maybe your message service was not working?
perhaps you should arrange for a specific time for it to be done and ask a text message to be sent as a reminder or confirmation.0 -
If their phone system by default is shown as a withheld number (which it may well be) how are they going to contact you?0
-
When I used to work in a call centre we could get around this by asking Switchboard to connect us to a customer's line showing CLID (Our lines withheld CLID by default), although obviously the effectiveness of this would depend upon their individual equipment and setup.

That is not my problem as I informed the customer services the reason why we have witheld number refusal (we were advised to by the police for certain reasons). They have my e-mail address and my home address.
Many people now have number witheld refusal. Too many businesses withhold numbers without good reason! The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 10

It's hardly their fault you have a preference setting on your phone and that you do not answer/call numbers you don't know.
Maybe your message service was not working?

1571 is working perfectly well as all other messages seem to be getting through! As in my last post they know of my phone settings, and the reasons why! Text messaging would not work, I do not give put my mobile number to businesses for one, and another, we cannot use mobiles in the village.
The onus is on them to arrange collection. I cannot arrange this parcel to be sent back, it weights in excess of 50kg!The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 10
