Most hilarious UKPC ticket yet?

Hello ladies and gents, I hope you are well.

Ok I am usually quite savvy within other money saving ventures however I found myself in a spot of bother today.

I recieved a UKPC car parking ticket a whole 3 minutes after leaving my car in a McDonalds car park to...yes you guessed it...to go to McDonalds...I even have the receipt. However UKPC are saying that I had 'left site'.

I was a little preoccupied in the restaurant when it happened however before finding this site, I appealed including the McDonalds receipt and the details it asked for. Only after that I looked at this site and now im a little scared to the fact Ive appealed instead of just ignoring it. I even pointed out with thier photographic 'evidence' that not only was I in the 90minute frame (a whole 3 minutes) my car was parked perfectly with no sign of me leaving the site (theres nothing else around there to go to as there is only a McDonalds).

So yeah youre probably thinking it is straightforward however Im just a tad scared Ive appealed it now with my name on it. Advice is sought please.

Its OK you need to appeal, it doesnt really matter what you say on the appeal to UKPC. If they reject (as expected) you can then appeal again using POPLA and win!
  • Do I have to appeal to POPLA? Could I just choose to ignore now or is an appeal a must?

If UKPC reject it with the rejection they should send you a code so you can appeal to POPLA.
Whether you ignore or not is up to you as far as I am aware UKPC have never taken anyone to court.
However a win at POPLA puts it away forever.

You can ignore if you wish. But PPCs are becoming much more litigant now, so why risk it when you can WIN at POPLA (with forum help), with the bonus that it costs both the PPC and BPA for the POPLA appeal. :)

And ... contact McDonalds and insist that they get the speculative invoice cancelled. (If they say they can't, they are lying).
  • I see. Im just thinking that if I do appeal through POPLA the statistics show near 50 50 for winning and losing. Does anyone have any experience with POPLA regarding UKPC

For the past 6+ months, the win rate for forum-assisted appeals is near enough 100%.

    YOU *****MUST*****

    ASK FOR A POPLA CODE!

UKPC seem to think they should only give you one if you ask for one.

I actually edited my post to ADD those words, as I wasn't certain. ;)

In the meantime the OP can go to the UKPC appeals website and check the allegedly photographic evidence against them. Their photos are generally useless and I've actually used their evidence against UKPC as supporting evidence in a claim that is currently being processed by POPLA.

By the way they did submit a POPLA code without asking when they rejected the soft appeal to them.
