Capital One Notice of Sums in Arrears

Can anyone give me any advice or enlighten me to how Cap1 process their payments.
I've just rec'd a letter as above notice of arrears, saying you have missed or failed to pay in full the last 2 caontractual payments to your account
Details -

The amount payable for the first of the missed or partly paid payments: £84.95
The date on which the amount became due: 29/08/2013

The amount payable for the second of the missed or partly paid payments: £93.00
The date on which the amount became due: 29/09/2013

Any partial payments made and the date on which that payment was made:

£84.95 - 30/08/2013
£93.00 - 30/09/2013

This letter is not a demand and you should refer to your statement for full details of the status of your account.
The remaining total amount payable to clear your arrears is £93.00, This is made up of your outstanding minimum payment including any arrears amounts.

I understand completely my payments show a day after they are due, my issue is (before I ring them) how come I make payment on the day it's due on their website, payment is approved, my credit limit shows as the payment is available to spend, yet it doesn't show on my statement until the following day?
I have had this card for around 8 years now, payment due the 30th of each month, I get paid the 29th and pay the balance that day no problems and now all of a sudden they are sending me this notice and its telling me I still need to pay £93.00 that has already been credited to my account - I'm baffled.
It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice!!

Most payment methods are not instant.

It almost certainly tells you this on the back of your statement.

Just looking at the back of my Luma AKA Capital One statement that happens to be here on my desk as I have just printed a copy off:

Faster payments - most banks offer 'faster payments' service when you pay by internet banking, telephone banking or standing order. Faster Payments received by Capital One before 5.30pm will reach your credit card account the same day. Payments made after 5.30pm will reach your account the next day.

Online - Allow 2 working days

Debit Card - Allow 2 working days

UK Bank - Allow 3 working days

Post - Allow 5 working days

I suppose it does depend if you are using faster payments or another of the methods. I use my debit card and it is as it states 2 days later credited to my account. Also have a minimum direct debit set just in case of any problems....

You can phone them and ask them to change your payment date. When my card was set up they asked me when I wanted it to be.

From the back of the statement:
    Making a payment

    [...]

    Online (Allow 2 working days)...

Oddly, it also says payments made by the Faster Payments service (bank transfer) before 5.30pm will reach your account the same day. Maybe you should pay using that method in future.

Presmably no fees or late payment details sent to CRAs?
