Make that the cheapest. We're already bottom of the Western European league for gas, and very near the bottom for ele.
Lose the ridiculous green taxes that milipede decided upon when he was energy minister (nincompoop), and make it a condition of license that you have to replace capacity if you have over X% of the market (3% maybe?).

There are a number of ways to save your own Electricity bill.
1. Charge your mobile phone/laptop/battery fluorescent lantern at work or in your car.
2. Buy a battery vaccuum cleaner and charge it at work.
3. My Nephew started using the showers at his works and now saves a fortune on both fuel and water meter costs.
Can't you get a table lamp that runs off the electricity in the BT phone socket?0 -

I might start doing this actually. I already cycle to work so might as well shower there rather than before leaving.
He has noticed a significant saving doing this. Clearly it isn't really a saving because someone else is paying but its a big firm!
A lot of work places seem to have showers now. My nephew also does his breakfast there using their electric kettle and their mini over or microwave. Also same for lunch.
What is the biggest cost on fuel?? Heating I guess. For us we have a wood burning stove at our house.0 -
SSE out first, who will be next to hike prices.0

Haven't bg been last for most of the recent rises?...perhaps they left it so late they just appeared to be first of the next round!
Was it back in about May that definitely bg, but I think most, said that there would be another round of price rises coming into winter?, it's not really news when it was announced months ago.0 -
I think British Gas's line was that they would've "had to" put up prices in the spring but the long winter brought them higher than expected profits so they could delay it until autumn.0
