Spider catchers!

I feel ill. What if the spider gets tangled, with all it's legs, in the brush? What if it runs up the handle towards you? :eek:My method is to open a window, then get my longhandled kitchen dustpan and brush set, and persuade the spider into the bristles on the brush, then rush over to the window and knock the spider out into the garden. Works better than you might expect!0 -

But spiders want hurt you.
Mostly they don't, but...

It's only that one type and they're pretty rare. The big house spiders are harmless, I put out a huge one last night, picked it up and it barely fit in my cupped hands. I did get bitten by a spider recently, for the first time, and although it itched for 10 days (I got stung by a wasp the week before and that only itched for 5 minutes) it wasn't painful or anything.0 -
I got one of these:

OH uses a glass and a piece of card to safely take them outside. I use my foot to safely put them out of their misery.

I have just been listening - on Sky News - to reports of the 'False Widow' spider which apparently is spreading North. It can give a very painful bite. It normally lives in outbuildings or places where it won't be disturbed but people have been bitten in their homes in their sleep! It is described as looking like a jelly bean on legs.
Be very afraid..... :eek::eek::eek:
