Spider catchers!

Yes it's that time of year again. I hate spiders but I also hate killing them . Does anyone use a spider catcher and if so, any recommendations?

  • We bought a good device a few years back that works well. I've researched and it looks like a 'Katcha Bug' cup with sliding trap on a green stick. I think we got it from our local Kleeneze lady but it looks like you can buy them online at various outlets.

(Now, where did I put those chestnuts?....)

Place clear plastic cup over spider, slide small postcard or similar under top edge of cup to trap spider inside, flick cup off card out of open window to eject spider.
  • Perfect time of year to find them - conkers!

I have had a few around the house the past few years and have not seen any spiders anywhere. Something to do with the smell of them.. i think :o

I have the same problem, I am also looking to buy some conkers, any suggestions where can I buy them from, looking at pictures I think I see so many of them around in parks but not sure if they are the same one.

Yes but the point is that some of us don't want to get that close. In fact it makes me feel queasy just reading that. Pathetic I know... :(

Yes they are the same. No harm in trying.

    Won't or want? :D
I know that, but phobias aren't necessarily logical. I know someone who is afraid of birds. She will not even walk past a tree with a bird on it. I can tell her the bird won't harm her till I am blue in the face, but it doesn't help! ;)

My method is to open a window, then get my longhandled kitchen dustpan and brush set, and persuade the spider into the bristles on the brush, then rush over to the window and knock the spider out into the garden. Works better than you might expect!
